Zina is a native of Moscow, Russia. She started dancing at the contemporary dance school of Nikolay Ogryzkov (1999-2004). Zina graduated from Rotterdam Dance Academy (Codarts) in November 2007. She danced with Galili Dance (2006-2009), Noord Nederlandse Dans (2009-2011), and Batsheva Dance Company (2011-Present).
